This engaging session will feature global management expert, Dr. Annika Steiber, who wrote the book The Google Model—Management for Continuous Innovation in a Rapidly Changing World in 2014 and who has now published her next book titled The Silicon Valley Model—Management for Entrepreneurship. During the session, Annika Steiber will explore issues that should be of major interest to companies and organizations all over the world. They include answering 3 fundamental questions on the mind of executives looking to further enhance their business in a digital era. They are:
- What are key features of the paradigm shift we are now seeing with regards to management of the firm?
- What are some of the companies around the world that are already practicing this new management model?
- What are some of the steps taken by companies in Europe, USA and Asia that are now embracing the new management model?
As Annika points out in her latest book, there is so much material on how to keep up with the times that a manager who tried to keep up with all of it would have time for nothing else. Therefore, Annika has distilled vast amounts of data and case studies into 6 basic principles, or as she puts it, “pillars” into an innovative framework.
This session will serve as a highly-relevant preamble to the 3-day session, since many of these concepts will be discussed in detail during subsequent keynote lectures and breakout sessions. These pillars are: 1) dynamic capabilities, 2) The continually changing organization, 3) The people-centric approach, 4) The ambidextrous organization, 5) open innovation, and 6) the systems approach.
